So I took my wife out last Sunday to History Park in Golden on Clear Creek to check it out. My wife was sitting in a folding chair with the back legs on dry land feeding the sluice while I was upstream about 100' sucking some gold n sand from behind a very big rock when I heard her yell "HEY".... I turned to see a kayaker crashing into the dam of rocks I had built up to control the flow throught the sluice!

He quickly turns (he was going backwards at the time) and says... "oops, sorry... did I interfere with your....... gold?"

Then took off on downstream.

I called Bill at gold n detectors on Monday and asked him if they make a kayak removal tool for a Keene Sluice box.

He said they were on backorder.

So next time we go up there, we're taking a rod and reel and a big red bobber (no hooks) and just throw the line and bobber, maybe a sinker, out in the creek, set the rod up on the shore and see if any kayaker is brave enough to head on in there again with the threat of a hook in the water.
