CA Compliance

Red, I have read SB670 and I have looked at your Gold-N-Sand product. Looks like something I need here in Southern Cali. I am curios though as to just how it is compliant with the dredge ban. Is is simply because of it being NON mortorized? I have heard rumor from some of the gold forums that prospectors have been confronted by the forest rangers for using "suction tubes" that are hand powered, similar in design to yours but with out the hose to a bucket or sluice box as you have. I also prospect in Colorado ( grew up in Gunnision.) are there any permits or compliance regulations for use there in Colorado?

The second question is regarding the header or boomer box. Is it exatly 10 inches wide? I use a folding aluminum sluice box but it measures 9 1/4" wide. Will your boomer box work with this?

Ilove the videos and all you get to find in the heart of Denver.

Thanks Scott

Re: CA Compliance

I have a copy of the SB 670 in our support section and yes because the Gold-N-Sand pump is non-motorized, it is our belief that is is SB 670 immune. Saying that, the Department of Fish and Game has not given an opinion either way. If this is not enough please refer to the departments existing regs.: cal.code regs. tit..14.228 "Suction dredging as defined involves the use of a suction system to remove and return material at the bottom of a stream, river or lake for the extraction of minerals." Yes the pump does use suction, however when using the bucket it does not return material to the bottom of a stream. This has not been tested even though we have sold thousands of these pump in California.

I can build a boomer smaller than 10" just not larger, that's why we use the adapters. As far as Colorado regs go; it kinda depends on the area you are in. Clear Creek Open space is controlled by the Jefferson county open space. and there are clear guidelines on the web. Cache creek BLM area requires a $30 permit to highbank with a limit of 14 days. So anywhere you go there is probably some kind of regulation to deal with. There are still plenty of places to go just around Denver and surrounding areas.
